BIL LA 2015 - Organizers

Christy Fair

Christy has a flair for hugs.  Please step up and introduce yourself if you happen to catch her at a moment when her feet are touching the ground.

Fedje Lang

Fedje first participated in BIL 2012 as a Main Stage MC, and has since MC'd 2013 and 2014 SF as well.

Fedje is an INTP.  If you happen to step up and introduce yourself, please redirect all hugs to Christy Fair.

Reichart Von Wolfsheild

I help from a distance.  Project management, art, design, layout.

And if you upload your picture here at at least 300x300 I will clean it up and make a cool BIL LA 2015 frame for it.

JZ

For this year's event I'm a matchmaker of sorts, connecting people with their unique skills to a position in which they can best contribute to and enjoy BIL.

Next up: I'll participate in BIL:Vancouver again, this year being held on March 20th-22nd.

Sabrina

I came away from BIL 2012 with the eternal first-timer question: “What can I do to participate next year?”

The answer was bringing on my company as non-profit fiscal sponsor of the conference – and enthusiastically doing so for the past three years.

Scott De Roy

A man of many hats, he's also got your back covered and would literally take the BIL-T off his back for you. In 2011, he started as a volunteer and decorated BIL with his BIG folding chairs.

Since 2012, a.k.a.The BIL Tee-Guy, Scott brings to bear his many business and personal resources to rock the conference. Why?... because he is passionate about BIL!

Alexis

Alexis has been an organizer, speaker, volunteer, advisor, and attendee at BIL since the beginning in 2008.

Meg Strout

"Queen of The Honeybadgers"

Good at The Internet, Creativity and Humans
Enjoys Whimsy, Old Cars, Innovation and Salsa Dancing

Jeff Luman

 Data collection and organization

I am working with each BIL organizer to streamline their roles and make future BILs easier to organize.

In my spare time I am wrangling photographers for BIL:LA 2015

Eain Bankins

Eain is an escaped muppet.  He will likely be found in the AV control room, or carrying heavy things, or perhaps fiddling with tiny connectors too small for his giant meathooks.

Eain is INTJ.  If you happen to step up and introduce yourself, please redirect all hugs to Christy Fair.

Martin Horowitz

"Prints Master of the Dark."
Came to BIL 2012 on a ticket from a friend,
Brought a Poster, and left as an Organizer.

When Not using a giant printer for BIL,
Martin can be found working on even larger aerospace projects.

Usually found Lurking around the science and technology talks at BIL.

Elisabeth de Kleer

Production Manager

YouTube Channel manager, media organizer, and videographer.

Please contact me at elisabeth.dekleer@gmail.com if you produced content for BIL and would like it integrated into one of our official YouTube playlists.

Kirez Reynolds

Kirez came to his first BIL in 2011 where he gave a talk "Fitness: A definition, a standard for measurement, and a method for continuous improvement".

He has organized BILbodies workshops and helps with "heavy lifting" at BIL. When we say heavy lifting, we mean it.

Isa Gordon

Isa has been a BILder since ... forever.   Isa is an artist, designer and entrepreneur whose works explore themes of transformation, technology and hybrid identities. She lectures and exhibits internationally and, much to her own surprise, is considered a leading expert in wearable technology.

Isa is perhaps best known for her cyborg alter-ego performance persona, Psymbiote, and as founder of the SIGGRAPH CyberFashion Show, which she curated and produced from 2002 through 2005.

Patrick McCulley

Patrick first attended BIL in 2013 as an attendee, and quickly became interested in organizing/volunteering for BIL.

He then became Lead AV for 2014 and 2015.  Previously based in Los Angeles, he is relocating to Berlin in the summer of 2015, where he is boot-strapping a for-profit pure scientific research think-tank.

Caitlin Pitt

Live Broadcast Director

Caitlin Pitt is a film production major at Loyola Marymount University who aspires to be a cinematographer.

She currently works with TV Free Media as a production intern. She joined the BIL team in 2015 as the director of the live broadcast.

Arianna Armstrong

Arianna has been BIL-ding since 2012. Back then, she agreed to be a volunteer, event-unseen.

After that first, life-changing, conference, she has been an organizer for each subsequent BIL except BIL:SF 2014.

She has a son who does his own thing for BIL:YOUTH.

Taylor Dodge

Second Unit Lead A.V. Technician BIL 2015, A.V. Technictian, Photographer, Videographer, Lazer chess master ("deflection")

"Crossing BIL 2015's event horizon was an experience I will never forget. It nearly tore me apart and now I am here to stay."

Alia Mackins

Alia attended her first BIL Conference in 2012, participating in 2013 as a speaker on the subject "MBTI: Creating and Understanding a Social Language", and in 2014 acted as the Youth Coordinator for the BIL: Youth.

In her spare time, Alia also acts as the head writer/producer/director for the social media project, "Candid Geekery".

Daniel Finfer

Daniel Finfer first attended BIL in 2011 as a volunteer and musician, and has been to *almost* every BIL since.

In 2015, Daniel partnered with Altervision3D to bring the experimental art installation to the BIL crowd, as well as spearheading a Reddit AMA and Wikipedia page for the conference.

Alex Rochestie

 Live Broadcast Producer

Alex Rochestie is an Emmy Nominee and the co-owner of the production company TV Free Media. He works to produce powerful new media products for a new global audience. He works to create live video broadcasts, festival coverage, and entertainment programming and deliver it to the audience wherever, however, and whenever they want. BIL 2015 was his second time helping with AV and attending BIL.

Kristen Foht Huffman

BIL has become a family affair, so Kristen was happy to finally lend a hand. She enjoyed being a part of the do-ocracy—in set-up, clean-up, and anything in between—and supporting the Design, Empathy, & Social Justice stage. Kristen is a freelance copyeditor and wordsmith.
